New bat regulation for the 2012 season

 

ORBA has announced their new rules for the 2012 season and part of the new rules includes a new bat regulation that will be in place for the 2012 season.

 

Part of the new bat regulation is that ORBA has banned all composite bats (bats may not have any composite features). Bats that have composite handles are also banned for the 2012 season.

 

Also, baseball bats must also be 2 5/8" or smaller to be used in the 2012 season.

 

ORBA has taken these steps as the players safety is our number 1 concern and studies have proven that composite bats can result in an increase in the amount of injuries due to the fact that the ball is leaving the bat at a high rate of speed.
